The City of Norton maintains an animal shelter to house dogs and cats which are running at large or are abandoned.
The New Norton Aquatic Center is located in Pool Park (800 W. Wilton) and opened in June of 2014.
City Code Inspector
The City Code Inspector is responsible for the City’s planning and zoning programs, activities, and is staff liaison to the Planning Commission.
The City Office is responsible for maintaining records of the City, including but not limited to financial and accounting records, payroll records, utility records, cemetery records, Ordinances, Resolutions, the City Code, City Council meeting minutes, various permits and licenses.
The City of Norton purchases electric power at wholesale cost and has a distribution system in place to serve the residents of the City of Norton.
The Norton Volunteer Fire Department takes pride in providing the community with firemen well-trained in firefighting techniques but also trained in rescue operation, vehicular extrication, search and weather spotting.
The Norton Municipal Court is located at 301 E. Washington, on the east side of City Hall. Court is held every Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Parks & Cemetery
The Parks Department provides all maintenance and mowing of City parks and facilities, City ballfields, drainage ways and street right-of-way, and the City Cemetery.

The City of Norton Public Works Department maintains 22 miles of streets and four bridges located within the City, which includes street sweeping, snow removal, repairing potholes, painting street markings, storm clean-up and sign maintenance.
Water / Sewer Plant
The City’s water supply source is from wells and also from treated lake water.
